2008 Editorial Submission Guidelines

Editorial Calendar for 2008

Many of you have encouraged us to provide more coverage on specific topic areas. We are going to blend these topics into our editorial mix with your help. Topics that we will cover in 2008 include:

• LEED
• Safety
• Design/Build
• Economic Development
• Interior Design Trends
• Trends in Healthcare
• Trends in Higher Education
• Trends in Commercial Construction
• Energy Management

Project Highlights

We will also feature important projects around the state of Indiana and what makes them unique. Our goal is to highlight and promote the quality design and workmanship that occurs every day in our state by qualified individuals and companies.

Company Profiles

Each month we will take an in-depth look at a company or firm making a difference in our industry. We have featured owners, architects, contractors and suppliers in past issues. We interview the key individuals at these companies so that you can learn how they do business and more importantly, how you can do business with them.

Other Monthly Editorial

All monthly editorial items should be sent as an attached Word document to editorial@buildingex.com.

Opinions - this page is designed to be an open forum for our industry. You may use this page to discuss thoughts or opinions on any issue relevant to design or construction in our state.

Industry News - each month we will publish information about people and companies on the move. New hires, promotions, new projects awarded, best practices, awards received or given are all ways to promote your organization.

Submit press releases or word documents as the event occurs and it will be published in the next available issue. We prefer to have pictures with these stories.

Association News - if you are a member of an organization that relates to design or construction, we want to promote your group. Let us know when you have meetings or events and we will attend and take pictures for our upcoming issue.

Calendar of Events - provide us with dates, times and event descriptions and we will include your association's programs, celebrations, or conferences on our calendar. Other industry-wide events will be included upon our discretion. You can also submit your event online by going to the Industry Calendar page and clicking on "Add and Event" on the top right side of the page.

Under Construction - each month we will include pictures and project descriptions of buildings around the state. We will feature up to ten projects each month with a picture and relevant information. Projects will be accepted on a first-come basis and projects will not be repeated.

Include; project name, owner, architect, general contractor, city, cost, size, and completion date. If you are submitting from a company that is not the architect or GC, your firm will also be mentioned.
